Exoclick as a Traffic Source

Exoclick is one of the largest ad networks in the market, allowing you to display your content in a variety of ad formats. The following article provides instructions on how to set up tracking of their traffic with Voluum.

Exoclick Integration

Caution

The tracking setup described here configures tracking of events (visits, clicks, and conversions) and information (device type, country, etc.). Note that although Exoclicks supports passing information via the {actual_cost} token, the values that are passed may not be 100% accurate. Some discrepancies between Exoclick and Voluum may occur. To avoid this, Voluum has developed the Integration feature that offers a deeper connection between these two platforms. This connection allows for accurate cost values to be passed.

If you want to use this feature, complete this guide and go to the Exoclick Full Integration article.

Before You Start

There are several things required for running a campaign with Exoclick as a traffic source. So before you proceed with the guide, make sure you have the following:

  • An active Exoclick account

  • An active Voluum account

  • An offer, and optionally, a lander.

Once you have everything ready, you can follow the instructions below.

I. Create a Goal in Exoclick

In the first step, you need to create a goal in Exoclick. The goal is used to describe a concrete conversion type (i.e a purchase, subscription or other).

Caution

Voluum Note: By default, Voluum is able to send information about only one type of conversion per campaign to a traffic source platform. But if you track more than one conversion type within one campaign using the Custom Conversions feature in Voluum, you can use multiple postbacks within one Voluum campaign, specific per conversion type. This can be done with the Traffic Source Postback URL specific per Each Event Type feature in Voluum. Read the following documents to learn more:

In order to create a goal in Exoclick, perform the following steps:

  1. In Exoclick, click the Campaigns drop-down menu and select the Conversion tracking option.

  2. Click the New conversion tracking tag button.

  1. Create an offer element. Read the Creating an Offer Element article to learn how to do that.

  2. (Optionally) Create a lander element. Read the Create a Lander Element article to learn more.

    1. Go to the Traffic sources tab.

    2. Click the New traffic source button.

      http://main.exoclick.com/tag.php?goal=REPLACE&tag={externalid}

Replace the word REPLACE with the goal ID that you have copied from Exoclick. Your edited traffic source postback URL should look like this:
