AdCombo and Voluum
AdCombo provides a selection of offers from 12 verticals, localized for 40 languages. They operate in low-competition GEOs in the CPA model. The following guide covers the topic of using Voluum to track the offers they provide.
Before You Start
In order to make those two platforms work together, you will need:
- An active Voluum account
- An active AdCombo publisher's account
Once you have everything prepared, read the following guide.

I. Get a Postback URL from Voluum
In the first step we will get a postback URL from Voluum. Postbacks are used to report information about conversions from an affiliate network platform (AdCombo) to a tracking platform (Voluum). Because it is AdCombo that will do the reporting, it needs to know where to send this information - hence Voluum's postback URL has to be submitted to AdCombo. In order to get a postback URL, follow the steps below:
- In Voluum, click the button in the top right corner of the screen to go to Settings.
- Go to the Tracking URLs tab.
-
Click the Copy button next to the secure postback URL.
You can also copy the non-secure postback URL by clicking the Copy button in the Postback URL section, but using non-secure links is not recommended. Read the Secure Domain in a Campaign Funnel article to learn more.
You have obtained your secure postback URL. Read the next step to learn how to submit it to AdCombo.

II. Submit a Postback URL to AdCombo
In order to submit a postback URL to AdCombo, perform the following steps:
- In AdCombo, go to the Postbacks view by clicking the appropriate option from the menu on the right.
- Go to the Setting tab.
-
Paste the copied postback URL in the Postback URL for leads text field.
Voluum Note: AdCombo offers you the option to fire different postbacks for various conversion statuses. However, Voluum only has one postback. You can disinguish between various statuses in your reports with the Custom Conversions feature.
Before you save the submitted postback, you need to edit it to include AdCombo's tokens. Postbacks pass information using parameters in the form of
parameter_name={token}
, that are a part of a URL, where:parameter_name
is the target platform specific (Voluum in this case) name that describes a value it passes. Voluum uses the cid parameter name to get a click ID value (a unique visit identifier), the payout parameter name to get a payout value and the txid parameter name to get a transaction identifier. For reporting conversion, passing a click ID value is required.{token}
is the source platform specific (AdCombo in this case) placeholder that will be replaced with concrete value. AdCombo uses the{clickid}
token to pass a click ID value that has been passed in an offer URL. AdCombo also uses the{reveue}
token to pass information about payouts to Voluum.
The Voluum's parameter names are already included in the postback URL. Right now, your postback URL looks like this:
https://voluum_dedicated_domain.com/postback?cid=REPLACE&payout=OPTIONAL&txid=OPTIONAL
You need to include AdCombo tokens in this URL to correctly pass information to Voluum. To do so:
- Replace the word
REPLACE
next to the cid parameter name with AdCombo's{clickid}
token. - Replace the word
OPTIONAL
next to the payout parameter name with Adcombo's{revenue}
token - If you do not plan to track subsequent conversions, you can delete the txid parameter from the link. In order to learn more about tracking subsequent conversions, read the Upselling: Tracking Subsequent Conversions article.
Your final postback URL should look like this:
https://voluum_dedicated_domain.com/postback?cid={clickid}&payout={revenue}
-
Click the Save button.
The postback URL has been set globally for all offers that you will get from AdCombo.

III. Get an Offer from AdCombo
You have now set one part of the tracking equation: passing information about conversions and payout to Voluum. The remaining part is to pass information about visitors to AdCombo. To do this, you need to get an offer and set it up in Voluum. To do so, perform the following steps:
- In AdCombo, go to the Offers view by clicking the appropriate option from the menu on the right.
-
Select the desired filtering options and click the Apply button.
-
Click the offer you want to promote. The offer details page will open.
Voluum Info: Offers with the VIP access type request approval before you can use them in your campaigns.
-
Click the button next to the offer URL to copy it to the clipboard.
You have now obtained the offer URL. The last thing to do is to add an offer element to Voluum with this offer URL.

V. (Optional) Differentiate between different user statuses with custom conversions
AdCombo defines User statuses so that you can differentiate between them. In Voluum you can record those statuses as Custom conversions. AdCombo supports 4 statuses:
- Hold - informs you about new orders, but not yet confirmed
- Reject - informs you about status change of the order (cancelled)
- Lead - informs you about the fact of action (purchase) and payout that was added to your account
- Trash (optionally) - random numbers or letters or a fake order
To record them you need to set up custom conversions and then you need to define the postback URLs that you are going to paste to AdCombo. Adcombo is able to send statuses via {status}
token. Once you’ll pair it with Voluum et
parameter, we will be able to record the postbacks for ‘hold’, ‘reject’, ‘lead’ and ‘trash’ events.
Voluum Note: By default, every postback posted successfully to Voluum is the conversion for us. However, with custom conversions you can determine if the event is counted in the 'Conversion' column or not.
