Editing Campaigns in Bulk
The Export/Import feature enables you to edit and save many entities at once using the CSV table format. After downloading the CSV file, you can provide all required changes locally on your machine and next, upload the entities to Voluum.
In case of update of
- Campaigns with flows: You can update all properties of the campaigns except the redirect mode; you can simply change the
Flow to Destination URL option by setting the appropriate values in the CSV file; however, you cannot set a path for the campaign - Campaigns with paths: You can update all properties of the campaign except the
paths themselves; instead, you can simply change the Path to Flow or Destination URL option by setting the appropriate values in the CSV file - Campaigns with destination URLs: You can update all properties of the campaigns, for example you can simply change the Destination URL to Flow option by setting the appropriate values in the CSV file; however, you cannot set a path for the campaign
To sum up, you can change the campaign's destination property from the destination URL to the flow and the other way round. You cannot change the destination property of the campaigns with paths.
I. Export (All or Selected) Campaigns from Voluum
To be able to update the existing campaigns, you need to download them from Voluum to your local machine.
- Sign in to Voluum.
- Go to Campaigns. The Campaigns view will show up.

You might choose one of the available options:
- To export all active campaigns, click the Export/Import > Export all campaigns drop-down button.

To export only those campaigns that you want to update, in the Campaigns view select checkboxes next to the campaigns you want to export and then, click the Export/Import > Export selected campaigns drop-down button.
Tip
Voluum Tip: If you press and hold the Shift button on your keyboard and select two entities in the Campaigns view, all entities between them will be selected automatically.
The confirmation pop-up window will show up.
- Click the Ok button to confirm that you want to export all campaigns from Voluum.

Save the CSV file with the exported campaigns locally on your machine.
Voluum Note: Keep in mind that you should always save a copy of the originally exported CSV file locally, in case you would like to reverse changes after applying them to Voluum. The Voluum platform offers a bulk import for new or edited campaigns. There is no automated way of canceling the updates, so you would not be able to do this without the copy of the original CSV file.
- If the CSV file contains more than 250 campaigns, you need to split it into smaller files where each of them can contain maximum 250 rows with campaigns and one row (the first one) with a description.
II. Update the Exported Campaigns Locally
Once you have got the CSV file with the exported campaigns, you can update the campaigns' properties. While modifying the campaigns, you need to remember to keep the Voluum's data structure in the file. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to upload the CSV file to Voluum.
- Open the downloaded Voluum template with a CSV editor that works best for you.

Modify entries for the exported campaigns following basic rules listed below:
- The file must be properly formatted CSV and saved using UTF-8 character encoding.
- One CSV file can contain up to 250 campaigns. It means that there should be up to 251 rows in the file - the first row is dedicated for a description of columns.
- One campaign is represented on a separate row in the CSV file.
- In the file, each row must end with a line break.
- Each column must be separated with a semicolon.

Campaign's properties are added according to a certain pattern delivered within the Voluum template.
Before you start editing the CSV file, read more about the way how the Voluum's data should be stored:
A CSV Template with Edited Campaigns
Each row in the CSV file might contain the listed pieces of information for one campaign. Note that only certain pieces of information are required and they are associated with the required fields in the campaign's form in Voluum. Other properties might remain blank.
Campaign ID: {campaign_ID_specific_for_Voluum} ; # Property required; the campaign ID is automatically available in the downloaded CSV file

Redirect mode: {available_redirect_modes_in_Voluum} ; # Property optional; available options: REGULAR, HTML, DOUBLE_HTML, REDIRECTLESS (in case of direct transition). Note that redirect modes can only be changed for advanced campaigns and for the first transition only.

Voluum Note: If you want to update campaigns with paths, you need to remember to keep Flow ID blank. In the CSV file, you may find campaigns with two destination options: flows and paths. Properties of all of them can be modified, however you need to keep in mind that you cannot transform the campaigns with flows into the campaigns with paths. Or the other way round. The campaigns, where the paths are set, are those ones where the Flow ID property are blank. This also means that you would not find the path ID property in the file.

Remove those entities that you have not modified what allows you to accelerate the process of uploading the file to Voluum. Only the campaigns available in the CSV file will be modified. Other entities with their properties will remain the same.
Voluum Info: Every time when you upload entities (offers or landers or campaigns) in bulk, only those ones will be updated that are stored in the CSV file. Other entities will neither be changed nor removed.
- Save the CSV files with the modified campaigns locally on your machine. The file must be properly formatted and saved using UTF-8 character encoding.
III. Import the Updated CSV File to Voluum
When you have finished updating the campaigns in the CSV file, you only need to upload the file to the Voluum platform.
- Sign in to Voluum.
- Go to the Campaigns. The Campaigns view will show up.
- Click the Export/Import > Import edited campaigns drop-down button. The Import edited campaigns form will show up.

Click the Start importing button in the form (bottom right screen). The file upload screen will show up.
Tip
Voluum Tip: You need to follow a data pattern implemented in the Voluum platform to be able to upload many campaigns at once. It is highly recommended to always use the CSV template while importing landers in bulk.
- Select the prepared CSV file and upload it to Voluum.

Wait until the CSV file will upload to Voluum. If any data is provided inaccurately, a list of errors will get displayed in the bulk import form. You will also find tips how to correct rows with the offers in the file to make it work properly.
- Once the CSV file is uploaded to the Voluum platform, click the Import button (bottom right screen). You should see the message that the process of importing campaigns in bulk has finished successfully. All campaigns should be added to Voluum and displayed in the Campaigns view.
- Click the Close button in the Import edited campaigns form. You have successfully added campaigns to the Voluum platform.

What to do if I have more than 250 campaigns to be created?
If you need to add more than 250 campaigns to the Voluum platform, you need to prepare CSV files with a set of 250 campaigns each and repeat the process of uploading the CSV files until you add all the campaigns you want to have to Voluum.
Is there any maximum size of the CSV file that can be uploaded?
Yes, you can upload the file with a maximum size up to 5 MB.
Can I remove campaigns that I have added in bulk?
No, you cannot remove them. In general, you cannot remove entities in Voluum. If you do not need to use campaigns, you can always archive them.
Can I add any other elements in bulk to Voluum?
