Clickbank Integration

The integration replaces the standard conversion reporting methods, such as postback URL or conversion tracking pixel. In this setup, Voluum periodically calls Clickbank's API and fetches any new conversions. Each conversion is imported with a time when it actually happened, not with a time of upload.

In short, the procedure goes as follows:

1. You set up a Clickbank offer in Voluum using the Clickbank affiliate network template as usual. To learn more about adding an affiliate network from a template, read the Add an Affiliate Network to Voluum article.
2. You set up an API integration in Voluum's Settings panel using both Clickbank's API keys.
3. Visitors' clicks are tracked and conversion information is sent back periodically without the need of configuring postbacks or pixels.

The Clickbank integration passes the following types of information:

• Conversion
• Action type (this has to be set up additionally in Clickbank)
• Transaction ID (this has to be set up additionally in Clickbank)
• Payout

The following things are required before you perform an integration:

• An active Voluum account with the integration feature enabled.
• An active Clickbank account.
• Clickbank's two API keys: Developer API Key and Clerk API key. Instructions on how to obtain them are provided in the next paragraph.

As of July 27, 2023, ClickBank uses only one API key. To get it, follow the steps below:

1. Go to your primary ClickBank account and go to Settings / API management.
2. Click Create New API Key.
3. Provide a name for the key, select your account(s) and click Save.
4. Copy your API key to the clipboard.

In order to perform the integration, follow the steps below:

1. In Voluum, go to the Advanced tab.
2. Go to the Integrations tab.

3. Click the Add integration button.

   

4. Select the ClickBank network and click the Add integration button.

   

5. Paste the API key.
6. Provide a name for the integration in the Integration name text field. This name has to be identical to your ClickBank account name.

7. Click the Add integration button.

   

Congratulations, your accounts have been successfully integrated!

The last thing you need to do is to add a ClickBank offer. In order to do so, perform the following steps:

1. Get an offer from ClickBank.

   1. In ClickBank, go to the Marketplace tab.

   2. Find an offer you want to promote and click the Promote button. A new window will open.

      

   3. Click the Generate hoplink button.

   4. Copy the offer URL that has been generated to the clipboard.

      

2. Add a Clickbank offer to Voluum.

   1. In Voluum, go to the Offers tab.

   2. Click the Create button.

      

   3. Provide a name for the offer.
   4. Paste the offer URL that you have copied from Clickbank in the Offer URL text field. Add the ?tid={clickid} parameter at the end of the URL. Your modified offer URL should look like this:

   5. Click the Save button.

      

The next thing to do is to set up and start a campaign that will use the offer that you have just created. Creating a campaign generates a campaign URL that you will haveto submit to your traffic source. Once your campaign is aprroved, traffic will start flowing towards your ClickBank offer.

A. (Optionally) Add Clickbank affiliate network to Voluum. Voluum provides you with ClickBank affiliate network template. Add this affiliate network to the ClickBank offer. Read the Add an Affiliate Network to Voluum article to learn more.

B. (Optionally) Create a lander element. Read the Add a Lander Element article to learn more.

C. Create a traffic source element. Voluum provides you with templates for the most popular traffic sources. If a traffic source is not on the list, you can create a custom one. Read Add a Traffic Source to Voluum to learn more.

D. Create a campaign. You can create either a Simple campaign, if you don't want to use rule-based paths, or Advanced that gives you full range of options.

• Use the ClickBank offer that you have created earlier.
• Select the traffic source and a lander, if used.
• Set up tracking methods and rules, and save your campaign.

E. Copy the campaign URL to the clipboard and submit it to your traffic source for approval. Don't forget to put Voluum click URL on a landing page, if you use one.

Not all conversions are all alike. Clickbank can distinguish between various conversion types. If you want to see conversions divided by type in Voluum, you need to set up custom conversions.

Clickbank sends the following conversion types:

You need to set up a custom conversion for each type. In order to do so, perform the following steps:

1. Set up custom conversions:

   1. In Voluum, click the button to go to the Advanced page.

   2. Go to the Custom conversions tab.

      

   3. Click the Add button.

   4. Add a custom conversion for each type. You don't have to set up all custom conversions listed above, just the ones you want to see in Voluum reports.

      A custom conversion should be added in the following way:

      • Provide a name for a custom conversion that will be visible in Voluum reports.
      • Provide a custom conversion type. For example, UPSELL.

      • Decide if you want to add this conversion type in general Conversions and Revenue columns on top of displaying them in separate columns. If you leave these checkboxes unchecked, these custom conversions will not be counted in these general columns and will be visible only in separate columns.

        

      • Decide if you want to pass these custom conversions to your traffic source.

   5. Your added custom conversions should look like this:

      

2. Turn on column visibility:

   1. In Voluum, click the button.
   2. Tick the checkbox next to columns with custom conversion names.

   3. Click the Save button.

      

If you want to track Order Form Impressions with Voluum, you can have them reported as custom conversions in Voluum. Get Voluum conversion tracking pixel URL and submit it to ClickBank. Follow the steps below:

1. Get a conversion tracking pixel URL from Voluum.

   In the first step you need to get a conversion tracking pixel from Voluum. In order to do that, perform the steps below:

   1. In Voluum, click the icon in the top right corner of the screen to go to Settings. The Settings view will appear.
   2. Go to the Tracking links tab.

   3. In the Conversion tracking pixel section click the Copy button next to the conversion tracking pixel URL to copy it to the clipboard.

      Paste the copied URL into any text editing tool and delete all tracking parameters. They will be added automatically by Clickbank. Add et=OFI parameter - it will distinguish this custom conversion from others. Your final conversion tracking URL should look like this:

      Copy this modified URL to the clipboard again.

2. Paste the conversion tracking pixel URL into Clickbank' setup.

   Once you have obtained a conversion tracking pixel URL (tracking link), you need to submit it to Clickbank. Follow the steps below:

   1. In Clickbank, go to the Vendor settings and then to the My Site page.

      

   2. Scroll down to the Integrated sales reporting section and click the Add tracking code button.

      

   3. Select the Tracking Pixel option from the Type drop-down menu and click the Add button.

      

   4. Paste the copied conversion tracking pixel URL into the Tracking Pixel URL text field.
   5. Select the Affiliate radio button in the Track As section.
   6. Select Order form

   7. Uncheck all boxes other than VERIFICATION_HASH and AFFILIATE_TRACKING_CODE.

      In the Override column, replace the values with the following Voluum tracking parameters:

      • VERIFICATION_HASH: provide the following tracking parameter name: txid

      • AFFILIATE_TRACKING_CODE: provide the following tracking parameter name: cid

        

   8. Click the Save button.

   9. The tracking code has been added. Click the button to activate your tracking code.

      

3. Add additional custom conversion for the 'OFI' event type.

   

There is no need to set up Facebook Pixel on the page. You can generate Facebook Postback URL in Automizer and place it in Facebook template in Voluum as a traffic source postback URL. Conversions will be reported from ClickBank to Voluum, and then from Voluum to Facebook Ads (now Meta Ads).
