Yeesshh as a Traffic Source

Yeesshh is a provider of the pop traffic that works mostly with direct advertisers. They offer vast targeting options (for example, GEO targeting down to the single zip code) and interesting features, such as Auto-Blocker. Read the following guide to learn how to start a Yeesshh campaign that is tracked with Voluum.

Before You Start

Make sure you have the following prerequisites:

  • An active Voluum account
  • An active Yeesshh account, with some funds added (min. deposit is $150).

I. Create a Campaign in Voluum

Before you can create a campaign in Yeessh, you need to create one in Voluum. This will provide you with a campaign URL that you will submit as a destination URL in Yeesshh. In order to create a campaign in Voluum, perform the following steps:

  1. Create an offer element. Read the Add an Offer to Voluum article to learn how to do that.
  2. (Optionally) Create a lander element. Read the Add a Lander Element article to learn more.
  3. Create a traffic source element:

    1. In Voluum, go to Traffic sources.
    2. Click the Create button and select the Traffic source option from the drop-down menu.

    3. Go to the Traffic sources tab.
    4. Click the New traffic source button.
    5. Click the Create custom button. The New traffic source form will appear.

    6. Provide a name for your traffic source in the Traffic source name text field.
    7. http://xml.yeesshh.com/conversion?c={externalid}&value={payout}

      Paste the following URL in the Traffic source postback URL text field:

      This URL is used to report conversions from Voluum (after Voluum has received this information from an affiliate network) to Yeesshh. The correct parameters have already been appended to this URL. You can see them after the ? character. They consist of the parameter_name={token} pair, where:

      • parameter_name is a description of a value that has to be recognized by the target platform (Yeesshh in this case). Yeesshh uses the c parameter name to receive their own click ID value back from Voluum (after it has been passed in the campaign URL in the {conversion} token and matched with Voluum's {externalid} token) and the value parameter name to receive information about conversion value.
      • {token} is a placeholder that will be automatically replaced with a concrete value, that is specific for the source platform (Voluum in this case). Voluum uses the {externalid} token to store and pass back a traffic source click ID value and the {payout} token to store and pass the conversion value.

      Reporting conversions will allow you to see payout information in Yeesshh and use their automatic optimization options.

    8. Scroll down to the Advanced parameters section. In this section you need to submit Yeesshh's tokens (in Yeesshh referred to as "macros"), so they will be correctly recognized by Voluum.

      Provide the following tokens in the Token column:

      • {conversion}
      • {bid}
      • {banner}
      • {keyword}
      • {pubfeed}
      • {pubpoint}
      • {pubzone}

      Voluum Info: The list above does not contain all Yeesshh tracking tokens. You can add more if you want. Keep in mind that many information, such as visitor's country, IP or user agent will be provided by Voluum and there is no need to pass it from Yeesshh.

      Provide your own parameter names that describe values passed in tokens in the Parameter column. Example names are shown in the image below.

      Provide a name for a custom variable that will be visible in Voluum reports in the Name column.

    9. Click the Save button.

  4. Create a campaign

    In Voluum, go to Campaigns, click the Create button and select the Campaign Simple or Campaign Advanced option from the drop-down menu.
