II. Inside Voluum

The second step takes place in Voluum, where we configure all the tracking magic.

A. (Optional) Create Workspaces and invite coworkers

This step is optional but recommended if you plan to work on advertising campaigns with your coworkers.

  • Workspaces allow you to segregate your content. You can use this feature to put offers from different customers in separate spaces or put offers that your coworkers will work on.
  • Coworkers allow you to spread the workload among other people. Invite coworkers using different roles (Worker, Read-only user) and assign them to concrete workspaces.

You can set up Workspaces and invite Coworkers in Voluum Settings / Collaboration Tools. Note that the number of available user invitations depends on your pricing plan.

D. Add your clients' offers to Voluum

This tells Voluum where to direct traffic.

  1. In Voluum, go to Offers.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Put your offer link in the appropriate text field.
  4. Add any additional information and click Save. If your client supports postbacks, you can grab Voluum postback from here.

If you plan to link directly from an ad to an offer, you need to put an offer tracking script on your offer page. You can find the script in the offer form:

E. (Optionally) Add a landing page

If you plan to direct visitors to an intermediary page (called a landing page) and put a CTA button on that page that directs to an offer page – you need to add a lander to Voluum.

  1. In Voluum, click the New button and select Lander.
  2. Put your page link in an appropriate text field.
  3. Get the click URL that you will put under a CTA button later.
  4. Get the direct tracking script that you will put in your landing page's code.
  5. Add any additional information and click Save.

Once you add lander to Voluum, remember to put the direct tracking script AND click URLs into your landing page's code.

F. Define traffic flow in a campaign

Campaign in Voluum defines how the traffic flows. You will pick a traffic source, offer, and a landing page (if used) here. Once done, you will get a direct tracking URL that will be your destination link in Google Ads.

  1. In Voluum, go to Campaigns, click the Create button and select the Campaign Simple or Campaign Advanced option from the drop-down menu.
  2. Campaign form type: When creating a campaign for the first time, you will see a campaign form selection window. Voluum allows you to tailor its experience according to your needs: if you only need to create a simple campaign, it provides you with a simple form and hides advanced options. And that's what we are aiming for: creating a simple, yet fully functional campaign. Select the simple form by clicking the Simple campaign option.

Don't worry, every time you create a campaign you will have an option to select the type of campaign form from a small drop-down menu.
  3. Workspace: Select the Private Workspace that this campaign will be assigned to. Workspaces allow you to separate your elements and segregate them by verticals, offer types or by other criteria. By default, you have only one Private Workspace, called Initial.
  4. Traffic source: Select Google as your traffic source from the Traffic sources drop-down menu.
  5. Campaign name: In the New campaign form provide a meaningful name of your campaign. Voluum will add some additional information to the name you provide.
  6. Path destination: Check the Offers only option if you are linking directly to an offer page or Landers & Offers if you want to use a landing page in a campaign funnel.
  7. Lander: Select the lander that you have just created.
  8. Offer: Select the offer that you have just created.
  9. Click the Save button.

The next screen provides you with a direct tracking URL, called either lander tracking URL or offer tracking URL.

Copy this URL to the clipboard by clicking the Copy button to finish the tracking setup in Voluum. Remember that the campaign URL is always available for you in the campaign's edit mode.

That's it, the tracking setup is now complete. The remaining step takes place in the traffic source platform.
