Creating a Campaign – Part 3: Tracking and Automizer

The TRACKING tab becomes available after you save the campaign destination settings. This tab contains all tracking links required to set your campaign running. Note that the content of this tab changes depending on the options you have selected. The setup below is valid for campaign options that were selected in previous steps.

  1. Select your tracking domain. By default, you will already have your main domain selected, but if you wish to use a different domain, you can change it here. All tracking links will then update accordingly.
  2. Copy the lander tracking script to the clipboard.

    Voluum Note: Implementing the lander tracking script to your lander is a recommended step for both methods of tracking. The details on how to implement it are below.

  3. Copy a Lander Tracking URL and submit it to your traffic source as the destination page.

  4. (Review) Make sure that click URL are added to your landing page according to on-screen instructions. Read the Adding Click URLs to a Lander article to learn more.
  5. (Review) Make sure that you have submitted a postback URL. If not, provide affiliate's network click ID token and generate a postback URL. Read the Submitting a Postback URL to an Affiliate Network Platform (example) article to learn more
  6. (Optional) Decide, if you want to apply or create a new Automizer rule. Read the Rules article.

  7. Once the campaign is approved in your traffic source and traffic is sent, you can start analyzing your campaign’s performance based on the large range of report categories available in Voluum.

How to Implement a Lander Tracking Script to Your Landing Page

  1. Go to the landing page that you host externally.
  2. Paste the Lander tracking script at the bottom of the <HEAD> component of your landing page's HTML:

    <HEAD>
    .
    Lander tracking script </HEAD>
    .
    <BODY>
     .
    </BODY>

Tracking testing tool

Voluum offers a tracking testing tool, which is a dedicated testing mode that helps you verify your setup. Note that this feature is an MVP and currently, it only supports the following funnels:

  • Redirect method
  • Offer only
  • Any conversion tracking method

If those requirements are checked, you will see the Testing tool in the Tracking & Automizer tab.

Events generated during testing will not affect your reports. Click open test mode, then Start testing and follow the on-screen instructions.
