Cloudflare: Setting up a Custom Domain
In order to use a custom domain for tracking from the Cloudflare provider you need to, first of all, purchase it and then, secondly, configure it according to instructions below.
I. Configure a Custom Domain on Cloudflare Side
The following section described how to set up the redirection from your custom domain ("track.mydomain.com" in this example) to the Voluum Dedicated Domain. To do so, perform the following steps:
Purchase your domain from https://www.cloudflare.com/ and sign in to your account.
Click the
button at the top of the screen.
In the DNS Records card select the CNAME from the drop-down menu below the Search DNS Record field.
In the Name field provide your a prefix for your subdomain name, "track" in this example.
Copy the Dedicated Domain address from Domains tab in Voluum and provide it in the Domain Name field.
Caution
Voluum Note: All domains assigned to your account you can find in the Domains tab in Voluum. If the Dedicated Domain is already available on your account, you need to point to the Dedicated Domain. Otherwise, you should provide a name of one of the Voluum legacy domains.
Select the minimum time from the TTL (Time To Live, i.e. time to propagate all changes through the network) drop-down menu for faster DNS settings propagation.
Click the
button and switch it to
to disable Cloudflare traffic acceleration.
Click the
button.
Your newly created CNAME record for the custom subdomain should point to the Voluum Dedicated Domain.
