Adnium as a Traffic Source

Adnium is an adult-only CPM-based ad network. They offer two ad formats: pop-unders and banners for you to choose from. The following guide describes a complete setup that is required to track their traffic with Voluum and report conversions back to Adnium.

There are some things you need to have before proceeding with the rest of this guide:

• An active Adnium account with some funds added.
• An active Voluum account.
• An offer, and optionally, and lander.
• An SSL-enabled tracking domain, as a recommendation.

Once you have everything, you can go to the first step.

We start with getting an API key from Adnium. An API key is required to authenticate conversion reporting via a traffic source postback URL. In order to get it, perform the following steps:

1. In Adnium, click your profile icon in the top right corner of the screen and select the My Profile option from the drop-down menu.

   

2. Go to the API view.

3. Click the Generate button.

   

4. Copy the API token to the clipboard.

   

The second step is about creating a campaign in Voluum. This will provide you with a campaign URL, that you will submit as a destination URL in Adnium. In order to do so, perform the following steps:

1. Create an offer element. Read the Add an Offer to Voluum article to learn how to do that.
2. (Optionally) Create a lander element. Read the Add a Lander Element article to learn more.

3. Create a traffic source element. Voluum provides you with the Content.ad traffic source template, so you can use it and skip most of the manual setup. In order to use this template, perform the following steps:

   1. In Voluum, go to Traffic sources.

   2. Click the Create button.

      

   3. Select the Adnium template.
   4. Click the Next button.

      In the Traffic Source postback URL text field you will find an URL template. It should look like this:

      You need to update it with an API key that you have obtained from Adnium. Replace the word [GENERATE_API_TOKEN] with the API key value that you have copied to the clipboard. Your modified traffic source postback URL should look like this:

   6. Click the Save button.

      

4. Create a campaign. 

   In Voluum, go to Campaigns, click the Create button and select the Campaign Simple or Campaign Advanced option from the drop-down menu.

   

   1. In the New campaign form, select the Adnium traffic source that you have just created from the Traffic source drop-down menu.
   2. Provide a name for the campaign in the Campaign name text field.
   3. Select the Private Workspace that you want this campaign to be assigned to from the Workspace drop-down menu.
   4. (Optionally) Select a lander you have previously created from the Landers drop-down menu.
   5. Select an offer that you have just created from the Offers drop-down menu.

   6. Click the Save button.

      

   7. Click the Copy button next to the campaign URL to copy it to the clipboard and paste it to any text editing tool.

      

   8. Click the Done button.

In the final step, you need to create a campaign in Adnium. In order to do so, perform the following steps:

1. In Adnium, click the Advertisers drop-down menu and select the New campaign button.

   

2. Provide a name for the campaign in the Name text field.

3. Set other traffic targeting options according to your needs and click the Name button.

   

4. Set additional traffic targeting options in the 2 and 3 steps and click the Next button to go to step 4.

5. In step 4, click the Click to add banners button to upload your creatives and submit the campaign URL.

   

6. Select your creative from the hard drive.
7. Paste the campaign URL that you have copied from Voluum.

8. Click the Upload button.

   

9. Change the bid value, if needed, and click the Submit button.

   

Your campaign has been created an is pending review. Once it's approved, traffic will go from your add, through Voluum, to a landing page defined in Voluum, and then to an offer.
