Tracking Mobidea Offers With Voluum

Voluum TRK Mobidea Tracking Integrations 

So you want to use offers from Mobidea in your campaign and Voluum as your tracking solution? No problem, Voluum and Mobidea work great in tandem! Configuration is super-easy on both sides and both solutions are complementary.

The following document will guide you through the simple process of adding an offer supplied by Mobidea in a form of Single Offer(s) or Smartlink. Don't know what those are and why should you care? Let's start with a quick recap of some basic terms.

What is Mobidea?

Mobidea is an affiliate network that can provide you with plenty of offers from the most profitable market in the affiliate marketing industry - the mobile phone market. In the post-PC era, smartphones are the main place of consuming content. And for spending money. So if you want to be where the most interesting things happen, mobile affiliate marketing is the go-to place for you.

Mobidea provides offers in two forms:

  • Single Offer: You apply for a specific offer in Mobidea. Then you provide its link when creating an offer element as an offer URL in Voluum. Every time a visitor clicks your an ad, this person will be directed to the same offer every time. If you want to use more offers in your campaign funnel, you can apply for several offers and create a corresponding number of offer elements in Voluum, each of them linked to the specific Single Offer.

  • Smartlink: An automatic offer selector. It shows the best performing offer for a given visitor based on visitor's country, device type, connection type and OS. Create only one offer element in Voluum and provide Mobidea's Smartlink as an offer URL in this element to benefit from its proprietary algorithm.

Having active Voluum and Mobidea accounts is a must, having a basic knowledge of both tools is helpful, as this article won't describe everything from A to Z, but rather from M to V.

In Voluum, you should already have a traffic source element created. Also, we recommend you to enable an SSL certificate for your domain. Read the Enabling SSL for a Dedicated Domain article to learn more.

Outside Voluum, you should secure a steady flow of traffic - by creating an account in one of the many traffic source platforms.

Ok, so now we know what will be discussed. Read further to learn how to add a Mobidea Offer to Voluum.

I. Get an Offer in Mobidea

First of all, you need to HAVE an offer to be able to SET UP an offer element in Voluum. First, you need to decide on the type of offer (Single Offer or Smartlink) and go to the appropriate section.

  • Get a Single Offer

Sign in to your Mobidea account. From the menu on the left select the Offer option. This will list you all available offers.


Use the filtering options on the right to narrow down your search. Once you have set all the filtering options, click the Apply button.


Not sure which offer to apply for? Use Smartlink instead and leave the decision to robots or go to Mobidea's Opportunities tab and see which offers are performing best. Click the https://affiliates.mobidea.com/opportunities/country link to go there.

Already found an offer you think is attractive? Click the offer name to go to details or apply for an offer immediately.


Reading offer details will allow you to learn more about offer restrictions, creatives or opportunities. Applying for an offer will show you the Apply for an offer window.


Provide the name or URL of your traffic source, decide if you want to use your own pre-sales page (landing page), creatives and texts, tick the box that you understand and acknowledge rules listed on the right and click the Apply button.

That's it for now. You just have to wait for your offer to be approved. Only once it's approved you will be able to obtain an offer link.

You can always find offer that you have applied for or offers that were approved by selecting Pending and Approved filtering options in the Offers view. Once your offer is approved, go to that offer and copy its link by clicking the Copy link button or go to the offer details and copy this link for yourself.

  • Get a Smartlink

In Mobidea, select the Smart Tools option from the menu on the left:


Select the type of content you want to display:


And that's it for now. Really. The link was created. Copy the link to clipboard and go to the next step to learn how to set up a postback.

II. Configure Postback

Postback is the way servers communicate with each other to send information about a conversion. Mobidea has to know who to tell "Hey, somebody took your offer!". Configuring postback in Mobidea is very easy - this is where the understanding between Voluum and Mobidea comes into play.

You can set up global postback to Voluum in Mobidea settings. Click the cogwheel icon and select the Global postback optional from the drop- down menu:


Select the Voluum radio button. Provide your domain name in the text field:

  • No HTTP or HTTPS

  • No tokens

  • Just the domain name


And you are good to go. Mobidea will now know where and how to send you information that a conversion has just occurred. Go to the next step to read how to add a Mobidea Offer to Voluum.

III. Add an Offer to Voluum

Right now, you've got an offer from Mobidea, be that in a form of a Single Offer or as a Smartlink, and configured a postback. Leave Mobidea for now and go to Voluum. Upon sign in, go to the Offers tab and click the New offer button.


In the New Offer form:

  1. Provide a meaningful name of your offer.

  2. And now the most important part: In the Offer URL text field paste the offer link or Smartlink that you copied from Mobidea. After you have pasted the link, you need to make sure Voluum can read and understand it by mapping the Mobidea parameters with Voluum tokens.

    Parameters are used to pass information in an HTTP request. Such a request is sent after clicking an offer URL, for example. Or when an affiliate network platform uses a postback URL to send information about conversion back to Voluum. Parameters are a part of a URL link. They come in the name={token} pair, where:

    name is the name of a parameter that identifies a value that is passed. They are specific for each affiliate network. Mobidea uses the tag parameter name to pass visitor's click ID.

    {token} is a placeholder for a dynamically generated value. Voluum uses the {clickid} token to pass the click ID value.

    Your offer link from Mobidea should look like this:


    In the minimal setup you need to pass at least the click ID value to properly identify a visitor. To do that, replace the {External_ID_from_traffic_source} token with Voluum {clickid} token. You can also pass additional info, such as campaign ID or placement ID  to Mobidea in the website and placement parameters. Simply replace the subID and sub_subID tokens with Voluum appropriate variables or tokens. 

    Example 4. Passing information from MGID to Mobidea

    Let's consider a situation where you want to use the MGID traffic source platform. If you have used the Voluum template for this traffic source, all MGID parameters should be already matched with Voluum variables, what is visible in the Advanced parameters section in the traffic source element setup in Voluum. Focus your attention on one information type there: campaign_id


    In our example we will pass this information about campaign ID to Mobidea along with information about a country. The second type of information is not passed from a traffic source platform, but is acquired by Voluum on its own.

    • Campaign ID: matched with the Voluum {var2} variable.

    • Country: Contained in the Voluum {country} token.

    You need to paste this variable and this token into the offer link from Mobidea, matched with their website and placement parameters. After you modify the offer URL, it should look like this:




    {clickid} is the Voluum token that passes a click ID value.


    {var1} is the Voluum variable that passes {teaser_id} value from the MGID traffic source platform to Mobidea.


    {country} is the Voluum token that passes information about a country from Voluum to Mobidea.

    Those {var1}{var2} and {click_id} tokens and any other that you might use are matched with traffic source's tokens (MGID in this example when creating a traffic source in Voluum). Whichever information you decide that you want to pass remember that passing a click ID value is essential to correctly match a visit that was registered in Voluum with a conversion, registered by Mobidea.

  3. If you have created an affiliate network element in Voluum, you can assign this offer to it. It is recommended for organizational purposes.

  4. Click the Save button.


You have successfully added an offer from Mobidea to Voluum.
