Multicurrency in Voluum

Voluum supports recording cost and payout information in currencies respective to your traffic source and affiliate network platforms. You can select a different currency for each offer and each traffic source. However, all financial information will be displayed in one display currency that can be different from the recorded currencies.

How Does It Work?

By default, Voluum records cost and payout information in USD. When you select a different currency for either one, the future cost or payout values will be recorded in the new currency. This is non-reversible, as Voluum does not edit the recorded data. This means that if you change a payout currency from USD to GBP, all payout values from that point will be recorded in GBP. If you decide to change back to USD, it will affect all future payouts, not the ones already recorded in GBP.

Cost and payout currencies are set on traffic source and offer levels, so you can track traffic in various currencies.

Selecting a display currency simply changes how your data is presented. The default display currency is USD. If your cost or payout currency are different, your data will be calculated using exchange rates accurate for the selected time range. This does not alter your recorded data in any way, you can switch display currency back and forth and the only thing that will change is the way your data is presented.

Example:

Let's assume that you do your business in India and China. And your traffic source and affiliate network platforms send financial information in local currencies. So you want to track cost and payout in rupees and yuans. To do so, you can set your Indian traffic source's and affiliate network's currencies to rupee (INR) and your Chinese traffic source's and affiliate network's currencies to yuan (CNY). All financial information will be recorded in the selected currencies but displayed in one currency set as a display currency (USD by default). This will ensure that you will be able to compare your results between campaigns tracked in different currencies.

Also, when you decide to look at your data from yesterday, your costs and payouts in yuans and rupees will be shown in USD using yesterday's exchange rates.

Voluum Note: Before Voluum supported multicurrency, the assumed currency was USD. If you have sent cost and payout information in a currency other than USD, changing their currencies after the multicurrency was introduced to the one you have used will affect your future data only. Keep that in mind when comparing past and future data.
